Information Product Descriptions (IPDs)

Thinking About GIS has been used as the basis for planning for the implementation of an enterprise GIS.

 

Information product descriptions (IPDs) are the building blocks of a well-planned Enterprise GIS implementation. The IPDs included here will contain, at a minimum:

 

* a summary description from each department involved in the creation of the information product description,

* map requirements,

* list and report requirements,

* document and image requirements, and

* a description of error tolerance.
