Overview
During this 2 day Advanced ArcPad training course, the trainee will receive a conceptual overview and the hands-on experience that are needed to take full advantage of ESRI's ArcPad mobile computing and data maintenance. The trainee will become familiar with the functional capabilities of ArcPad while using a Windows Mobile powered device.
Goals
Goals of the course are designed to teach how to effectively collect, update, analyze and process GIS data using:
* Planning an ArcPad project
*
Software and equipment setup
*
Import/Export data using ArcGIS
*
Data collection and update
*
Processing and analyzing data
*
Hands-on field exercise and project
Students will also receive a training manual, course certificate and class CD
Prerequisites
Recommended prerequisites for this course include a basic understanding of Windows Mobile devices, GPS, GIS software (ArcGIS, ArcView), and GIS data (shapefiles, geodatabases). The FREE Introduction to ArcPad course from the ESRI Virtual Campus is also recommended before attending this training course, although it is not a requirement.
